I wanted to share with you some amazing bras I have found from a store called Josh Lingerie

I met the owner Joyce at the Brands Hatch evening in May as she is a sponsor for Guy's race car. Five Question Friday - Vicky

Well hello

Friday is here.... it has been a long week, but it's nearly the weekend! And to celebrate with a bit of Five Question Friday! It's time for me to ask some questions to the lovely
Vicky @ The Curved Opinion.

1. What is your favourite clothing shop?
My favourite clothing shop is SimplyBe. I love the wide variety of choice and styles that they have and I know that the fitting is true to size. I can always rely on them to find my next "must have" dress.

2. How would you describe your style?
My style is still evolving as I am not that far out of an all black closet. At the moment I am all about prints and you will generally find me in a dress. I am never too far away from a Mary Jane shoe.

3. What is your favourite nail polish brand and colour?
My favourite nail polishes are from Barry M and my favourite of the moment is the Red Glitter sparkly one.

4. If you had £100 to spend on any one item, what would it be?
If I had £1000 to spend I would buy a pair of Louboutins, preferably these!

5. If you could go anywhere in the world on holiday, where would it be and
who would it be with?
If I could go anywhere in the world on holiday it would be to Singapore with my best friend to watch the Formula One!

Great answers from Vicky this week! If you haven't checked out her blog The Curved Opinion, I'd highly recommend it! She has some great posts about fashion and beauty, and if you are visiting here from her blog, please take a minute to check out some of my other posts :) See you next week with some more questions with another blogger!

Being one of life's winners

Well hello
Last month, the lovely people at Lovedrobe posted a competition on Facebook they called 'Girls Night Out'

They invited people to Like and Share this picture, and then choose one you would be spotted in and how you would accessorise it. I went for this one....

I picked this one as I thought it could be dressed up for a night out, or more casual on a day out. I loved the pattern on it as they are my favourite colours, and I especially liked the length of the sleeves. I think the pattern on this is so busy that all you would need to accessorise it would be a nice clutch or pair of heels.

So I was out shopping with my mum one day when I got a notification on Facebook that Lovedrobe had mentioned me. I had no idea what was going on, and then I realised what it was. I had won the competition! I was so excited!! I haven't won anything before, and I was so happy to have won such a beautiful dress.

Lovedrobe contacted me that day and asked for my contact details and the next day, the dress was here!

I love it! Apart from my wedding dress I wore in October last year, I haven't worn a dress in years. As I have mentioned in a previous post, I have spent the majority of my adult life being ashamed of my size, not just weight but height too. But I am slowly feeling better about how I look and that I can wear what I want as long as I am comfy.
As soon as I put this on and looked in the mirror, I smiled. I felt good, and loved how I looked in the dress. I am 6"1, so it's not the longest dress on me, but I can't wait to wear it :) I really love the sleeves as they are a great length for me.

I am planning my parent's 30th Wedding Anniversary party in June, and this is what I am wearing. I can't wait!

I want to say a massive thank you to the lovely people at Lovedrobe for setting up this competition, and I planning my first purchase soon!

Brands Hatch Evening

Well hello

I love motor racing. I've been watching it since I was little. My dad used to be marshall, then he got into photography, and now that his is job! We have travelled all over the country, from our local circuit Brands Hatch, to Knockhill in Scotland. My mum and I would pack up on a Friday after school, then when my dad got home from work, we would head off. For many years we had a great big tent that we used to stay in at the circuits, but then we turned posh and got ourselves a caravan. Those weekends were some of the best in my childhood. Often my mum and dad would have foster children, and so we would all go together. I always used to love having other children to play with :)
Anyway, back to today's post..... One of the weekends we were away, mum and I got chatting to a man and his son Guy, and as we started talking, we realised we lived about 5 minutes from each other! From then on, we were friends. Mum and dad with Guy's parent's, and me with Guy. we used to hang out at the race meetings, and at home too. He has been a great friend for 15 years :) So when he said he was heading to Brands Hatch for a track afternoon in his Seat race car, we couldn't wait to see him and the car in action!

So, the weather was OK, slightly overcast, but fine. So when Mike got in from work, we headed up there (it's about 5 minutes from our house now). My mum and dad were there as dad was taking some pictures for Guy, and then Mike's parent's came along too. I had prepared some picnic food for us all - sausage rolls, chicken dippers, Pringles and some other goodies :) which we enjoyed and reminded me of the old days :)

So we had a nibble and then it was time to see Guy in action!

Then, after a lovely bit on sunshine, the rain came, and really hard! Like torrential for about 5 minutes! We all took cover in our cars and the racing was stopped. Then we got out of the car in bright sunshine again, and saw this amazing rainbow!

Apart from the spell of crazy rain, we had a great evening :) Great friends, great car action and some yummy food.

Guy runs his Seat Leon Cupra Cup car with XLR Motorsport and they have some great offers for track days and passenger rides. Please check out their website :)

I need your help

Well hello

This is a different post to my normal ones, but I wanted to share with you a petition that my friend is involved with, and one that I think everyone should sign.

Last week, my friend Donna's cat had to be put to sleep after ingesting something toxic. They believe it was antifreeze. After this happened, quite a few people in her area came forward to say that the same thing had happened to their cats. Although they cannot prove it, they think that someone is purposely putting antifreeze in cat food and leaving it out for cats to eat. Donna was heart broken at losing her cat, and she is now petitioning to the Government to pass a Bill in Parliament urging all manufacturers of anti-freeze to add a bittering agent to its products, so that it is not attractive to cats and other small animals.

Only a teaspoon of anti-freeze is sufficient to be a fatal does in a cat. The cat will suffer a very painful death. No animal deserves that.

RIP Squishee

A Cake in 5 Minutes!

Well hello

This month is going so fast! I can't believe we are almost half way through already! I am so happy that I decided to take part in the #31daysofmay challenge as it has been really motivating for me, and helped me understand what I want to do with my life :)

Just over a year ago, I really started getting hooked onto watching YouTube videos, and one day, I came across a group of lads from Sorted. They specialised in making good, nutritious food, but for either little cost, or little effort. I'm all up for that! So, when they put up a video for a 'Cake in a Mug', I was curious to say the least.... Oh my days! It was amazing, and today, I want to share this mug full of happiness with you!

Some evenings, I've had my dinner and felt quite full, thinking to myself 'I don't really want anything for dessert'..... Then, an hour later I'm raiding the kids packed lunch cupboard o find something sweet to nibble on! But with this recipe, I can have a fresh cake, in less than 5 minutes!! Oh yes, you heard me right, 5 minutes!

Last night, I made Mike and I these, I opted for chocolate, and he had banana :)

Ingredients

2 tbsp plain flour
2 tbsp caster sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp milk
1 tbsp sunflower oil

added flavours
1 tbsp cocoa powder
or
1 tbsp banana milkshake mix

Grab a mug, the bigger the better! Then add in the flour, sugar and any flavouring of your choice and mix together.

Top - with cocoa powder
Bottom - with banana flavouring
Crack in the egg and whisk. Then add in the oil and milk and stir thoroughly. Make sure you get all of the dry mix from the bottom of the mug, it usually gets stuck around the bottom. Once mixed together, you should have something that looks like cake batter...

Now it's time to cook them! Place a mug into the microwave and cook on high for 2 1/2 minutes. During this time, the cake will rise and look like it is going to spill over the mug, like this...

But don't worry, it'll be OK  Then, once the 2 1/2 minutes are up, take the mug out of the microwave - be very careful as the mug is REALLY hot, so hold by the handle! Then you will have something that looks like this...

Now, it's best to give it at least 5 minutes to cool down in the mug as it is really hot. But this is also a good time to add toppings :) If you put some chocolate buttons on the top, they melt nicely, or we topped ours with a little golden syrup. And then enjoy!

So simple and quick, I love them! Don't forget that you can try different flavours by adding different things. Maybe a teaspoon of instant coffee, or some ground almonds. Be adventurous!

MUA Lipsticks

Well hello

I posted a while ago about my recent discovery of the brand MUA in Superdrug. Last time, I bought a lipstick, lip gloss and a blusher, which I am using every day! But when I visited the MUA in the Bromley Superdrug, I was mainly after the lipsticks. I had heard such good reviews of them, and at £1, are right up my street, I was disappointed when the collection was half empty. So when I was in Swanley last week, I had a little look what they had.... and I ended up getting two more of the lipsticks in different shades :)

The lipstick on the left is shade #2 and is a deep raspberry pink colour. This is my first lipstick this kind of purple colour and I really like it.

The lipstick on the right is shade #3 and is a bright pink colour. I do have another lipstick like this, but this one is more pigmented and looks gorgeous on :)

Here are swatches of the two colours - the purple one on the left and the pink on the right.

I know I'll get good use out of these in the summer :)
